Life for Nepali

Welcome to the Jivan for Nepali blog.

Life!

Jesus came to bring life and to bring it abundantly. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

In Nepali, “Jivan” means life. It is our desire that Nepali people know the freedom, joy, and abundant life that can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Jivan for Nepali exists to recruit and equip pastors dedicated to sharing the Gospel in remote villages in Nepal. In time, we want to guide them in self-sufficiency by welcoming them into the businesses we create.

We are a small ministry founded by Joshua Pun, a simple Nepali man who grew up in a village and after, suffered greatly for the Lord early in his ministry. Joshua’s family, along with three full-time Nepali staff, make up the leadership of Jivan for Nepali.

This blog is not about us. It is about Nepali men and women who are on the front lines, working for the Lord, sharing the gospel, and planting churches in the hard-to-reach places of Nepal. We aim to raise up and equip these individuals so their village communities can be transformed by the gospel. Unfortunately many such people end up leaving the country in search of work. We want to hold these men and women in Nepal so that they may fulfill their calling to deliver the gospel. May Jesus bring the fullness of life to Nepali villages suffering from poverty, idol worship, demonic possession, joblessness, addictions, and isolation.

The Nepali pastors, missionaries, and church planters we partner with are faithful and dedicated. We look forward to introducing you to them in future posts. They fervently seek the Lord and are witnessing lives being changed as they proclaim Jesus’s name among some of the highest mountains in the world. Stay tuned to learn their stories and more about the beautiful culture and people of Nepal.
