Empowering Nepali Communities
Who is Jivan for Nepali
Unemployment in Nepal is at a high, prompting many people to migrate abroad for work despite a desire to stay and spread the gospel. Remaining believers struggle to support their families. Nepali village pastors face challenges including lack of training, discouragement, loneliness, financial hardship, and at times, legal persecution for sharing their faith. Many remote villages in Nepal have never heard the name of Jesus. Jivan For Nepali addresses these issues by equipping local believers and pastors through networking and partnerships to expand church outreach, offering support, accountability, financial aid, and Biblical education. We train pastors and micro-business leaders in Biblical Stewardship, Business, and Bookkeeping to lead their ministry in self-sufficiency.
Utilizing founder Joshua Pun's background as a former village Hindu Nepali, we emphasize the effectiveness and cost-efficiency of supporting local leaders over Western missionaries. Joshua empowers his own people, utilizes local leaders, integrates sustainable business practices, and focuses on discipling pastors to equip our small church-planting network to effectively reach remote areas of Nepal.
