Empowering Villages, Transforming pastors

Sometimes, a single decision can transform a life—and even change a community.

For Dar, that decision came when he encountered Christ in Nepal. Now, imagine that transformation spreading beyond one person to an entire village—one that for generations practiced Hindu witchcraft.

"My name is Dar, and I live in the snowy mountains on the border of Nepal and China. Not long ago, I was a man without Christ, struggling to provide for my family. I struggled with an alcohol addiction and anger toward my family and neighbors. With no jobs in my village, my only option was to leave my village and work in India.

This time last year my life was in despair, but quickly everything changed. A team member from Jivan for Nepal made the difficult journey to my remote village, where there are no roads. That day, Christ came into my heart, and my life was forever transformed. God gave me a burden to stay in my village, pastor my people, and share the hope of Christ.

Today, through Jivan for Nepal, I am being personally discipled by another JFN pastor partner and attending a discipleship program. I am also able to stay with my family and serve as the village pastor because of the monthly support I receive."
