A vision on the hills

From Communism to Christ

Pastor Surya’s Testimony

“I had a vision of a person holding my hand on my shoulder and showing a glittering white stone upon the hills. That vision led me to seek God’s will in my Life.”

“In the years 1989 and 1990, I was highly influenced by communist thoughts. I was about 25 years old at the time. In Nepal, the Communist Party came into power, leading to consequences where more than 17,000 people lost their lives. I did not find the change in the nation as I was hoping. I was from a communist background, therefore I had no faith in G0d.

One day, I went to chrch with my uncle's son. Fellowship with them brought solace and peace. I decided to live for Christ on July 10, 1995, and was baptized soon after. After that, my faith in J3sus Christ grew quickly.

While in India, I had a vision of a person holding my hand on my shoulder and showing a glittering white stone upon the hills. That vision led me to seek God’s will in my Life.

When I returned to Nepal, I decided to follow and serve G0d alone. As a farmer, I worked hard for a living, doing tasks such as cutting grass from the field, feeding cattle, and plowing fields to grow crops like paddy (rice), maize (corn), and kodo (millet).

Patak is married and has 4 kids, all are married. He is the leader of 14 local churches out of the church he originally started. There are 8 co-workers who are helping him.”
